President and CEO
Director of Space Design Research Laboratory

Yasushi Honda

Born in Aichi Prefecture, after graduating from the Depart of Architecture at Musashino Art University, I worked at UG Toshi-Kenchiku and Kitayama & Company. In April 2010, along with co-representative Yuichi Nakamura, I founded the Lifestyle Institute. True to our company name, our belief is in “creating a good daily life through the creation of lifestyle,” focusing on producing and designing commercial environments. My hobbies include fishing, camping, fashion, cars, and DIY projects, with a motto of breadth over depth. Currently, I’m immersed in renovating used camping cars.

Executive Vice President
Head of Planning and Research Depart / Head of Visual Design Research Depart

Yuichi Nakamura

Originally from Gifu Prefecture, I graduated from the Depart of Architecture at Waseda University’s School of Science and Engineering. Afterward, I gained experience at Kitayama & Company, where I worked on the planning and development of large-scale shopping centers, business model development for stores, and the development of new brands. In order to create a comprehensive creative team that transcends specific fields, I co-founded the Lifestyle Institute. We handle the planning and design of facilities and brands both domestically and internationally.
My personal hobbies span a wide range, including outdoor activities, art, running, golf, tennis, dining out, exploring shops and castles, traveling, reading manga, collecting stationery and pottery, fishing, enjoying comedy and rakugo (traditional Japanese verbal entertainment), horse racing, and more. With curiosity that extends in all directions, I approach both work and play with enthusiasm.

PLANNING / RESEARCH LAB.

Executive Officer and Senior Planner

Yusuke Takayama

Originally from Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, I graduated from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Meiji University. During my student years, I became more interested in “towns” rather than individual buildings, leading me to join a urban planning consulting firm after graduation. There, I was involved in projects such as master plans, community development concepts, and planning for community buses. Later, wanting to work on projects that involved actually creating towns and shops, I joined as a founding member of the Lifestyle Institute. I’ve always had a passion for interior design since childhood, and recently, I’ve been nurturing indoor greens and decorating my room with them. I also enjoy walking around towns and dining out, so I incorporate my hobbies into my work every day.

Chief Planner

Yusaku Oku

Originally from Osaka Prefecture, I joined the company in October 2017. After graduating from an art university in Kyoto, I worked as a planner at an interior design company for about 10 years. While involved in research and planning for large-scale facilities, I wanted to be more involved in aspects closer to the users, prompting me to change jobs. With the company’s rich track record in a wide range of fields centered around planning, from small to large store designs, brand development, and business model development, I decided to join. Currently, I am engaged in project management for planning projects and brand development, and on weekends, I enjoy watching rugby and staying active through hiking and trail running.

Planner cum Operations Manager

Shunsuke Kuzuya

I joined the company as a mid-career hire in April 2016. Previously, I worked in the cafe and restaurant industry, where I was involved in operating and launching establishments. During my time there, I developed a desire to be involved in broader aspects of store development, which led me to join this company. Starting as a planner with no prior experience in the field, I utilized my experience and knowledge from the food and beverage industry to contribute not only to store development but also to various projects such as commercial facilities and community development. I strive to learn every day while tackling my duties. On weekends, I enjoy spending time with my beloved dog and camping, and every summer, I make sure to attend a music festival in Niigata without fail.

SPACE DESIGN LAB.

Chief Designer

Natsuko Udagawa

Tokyo native, I graduated from an art university and previously worked at an interior design firm, primarily involved in designing apparel stores. After joining the Lifestyle Institute, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wider range of projects, expanding beyond apparel stores. Being involved from the planning stages has been particularly enriching. Drawing inspiration from clients and other teams, I aim to continue enjoying my work with a broader perspective.

Designer

Kento Okushita

I joined the company as a mid-career hire in July 2016. Although I graduated from the Faculty of Law, I couldn’t give up my childhood dream of pursuing a career in design. After graduating, I attended a vocational school to study design. Subsequently, I worked at a studio specializing in retail and service store interior design. Seeking to broaden my design expertise, I joined the Lifestyle Institute, where I could work on a diverse range of projects spanning from retail stores to environmental design for commercial facilities. Since joining, I’ve been involved in various projects, including brand development for flower shops and environmental design for commercial facilities.

Designer

Nanami Katsumata

Born in Tokyo, joined the company in 2024. After graduating from university, I worked at a company that organized exhibitions and published books, where I was involved in producing exhibitions and publications. However, my desire to work in designing spaces where people gather grew stronger, leading me to join the Lifestyle Research Institute. I aim to be involved in space design across various fields, and I want to experience and absorb interesting and good things in everyday life while enjoying the process. I love art and design, and visiting exhibitions and art galleries is my hobby.

VISUAL DESIGN LAB.

Graphic Designer

Hiroyuki Higuchi

After graduating from an art university, I worked at a design firm and a furniture manufacturer before joining in 2019. I’ve been involved in various tasks that require collaboration across different teams, and the scale of projects I work on varies greatly. It’s exciting to see ideas from everyone come to life. Sometimes I draw on my past experiences for projects, while other times I get to explore new areas of design, which keeps things fresh and engaging. My hobbies include snowboarding, and in recent years, I’ve become a fan of watching rugby matches.

Graphic Designer

Saran Yuda

After graduating from Nagoya City University’s Faculty of Art and Design, I worked as a graphic designer at a tableware manufacturer before joining the Lifestyle Institute in 2021. My daily tasks are diverse, and I often encounter new fields, which expands my knowledge and enriches my personal life. I value communication, flexibility, and strive for excellence in my work, aiming to create something great. In my free time, I enjoy eating, watching comedy, visiting large parks, and spending time with cats.

Graphic Designer

Naruse Hashizume

After graduating from vocational school, I joined the company in 2021. I’m constantly inspired by the opportunity to work on design tasks across various media, leading to new discoveries every day. Working with the design and planning teams allows me to learn from a wide range of perspectives. I prioritize clear communication and considering things from the perspective of others in my design work. On weekends, I enjoy exploring various places and interacting with new environments and objects.

REIKO
